Subject: Danger Room: Droids

Im building a 'danger room' for the teams new base, and havent quite pinned
down how a Droid should look on paper. The design Ive worked out so far is
this:

There is a base model droid, which are than equipped with modular armor and
weapon configurations to simulation diffrent opponents. So far this is all I
have down. I think Any help you guys can put up will help a lot here.

Just remember that this is a 75 - 90 point low end supers team.

Hello Heroes,

There won't be any Hero games at Orion Con this year. I'm afraid I =
was to late and was delegated to backup status.

I hope no one is attending solely to play Champions...

	Er, where is Orion Con?

This isn't a Limitation as written. The Aid has not been bought with
any Advantage allowing it to affect more than one Power, so it only affects
one (presumably Energy Blast) by default.

As written, this is also not a Limitation. It can only raise them a
max of 2d6 as it is, since EB costs 5 points per die, and a 2d6 Aid with
no Max increase can only add 12 points.
If you already knew that, and intended it to mean that it can't push
the user's EB above 10d6 (from 9d6, for example), then it might be a
small limitation.

This isn't generally considered appropriate for supers games (it's
meant for magic items). But it's your game, and if you want your supers
to risk points on Independent stuff, it's your call. :-)

   OIF is a -1/2 Limitation.

No. This is already inherent as part of Aid.

> Limited- Can raise active points to max of 10d6

Is this to mean that the final result cannot exceed 10d6? (It's already
limited -- note lower case "l" -- to adding only 12 Active Points to the
Power.)

   The rest looks OK mechanics-wise.

It's not really that great. For 2 points you have a device that can
boost the power of your Energy Blast by a couple of dice for a few seconds.
The only thing I'd really question (other than the "Only vs Energy
Blast" Limitation, as noted above) is the Independent Limitation; I don't
think that's really appropriate, unless you're playing a sci-fi campaign
where the character is paying points for the item which he built, or you're
using an extremely strict Equipment Allowance.

He means these items to be issued to the (low-powered) heroes: they are
"standard" pieces of equipment for his game, and therefore not charged to
the characters in question. Putting Independent on such things is fairly
standard.

Or, if he IS going to charge them for it, they are temporary things that the
heroes will outgrow and need to be exceedingly cheap. In this case, though,
I'd suggest not taking the Independent limitation and buying off the Focus
and other things later: it's only a few points more to start.

Heh. Of course, he's already said "thanks for the help" and continued on to
other things, but nevermind...

Appearance:
A homoncluous is a tiny humanoid only 18" tall. it has greenish, vaguely
reptilian skin, a bat-like face with a bulbous nose, pointed ears, fangs
and two bat wings on its back. The creature walks on its hind legs and
can manipulate small objects with ease.

Ecology:
The homoncluous is created through artificial means, using a complex
alchemical process. As such, the creatures are sexless and cannot breed.
They are, however, alive and do require food, water and sleep.

Motivations:
A homoncluous does what ever its master desires it to do. Since there is
a permanent mind link between the two, a homoncluous's master will often
send it out to scout the terrain ahead or to deliver a small object.

Combat Techniques:
In general, the homoncluous tires to avoid combat. If pressed, the
creature will bite, aiming for bare skin (such as a hand or the neck). It
has two long fangs and can inject a venom that will quickly render a
target unconscious.

Other Names: Familiar

Rumors:
It's said that the homoncluous is only a minor demonstration of the
process that creatures such creatures. Larger, more human-like creations
can be made, but the process takes some time, and the results are usually
less than stable.

Designer's Notes:
The homoncluous is a interesting little critter. Some of it's powers
(such as knowing what the magician who created it knows) are hard to
define in Hero terms, especially if all one is doing is creating a blank
template. The best suggestion is for a game Master to customize this
design with specific skills and psych lims for a specific homoncluous, as
each should be different in personality and abilities.

Subject: Discriminatory IR

I was wondering what the prevailing opinion on just how detailed the
imagery would be from Disc. IR vision. I am looking at SF battlesuits for a
Space based game.
What I am after is a HUD system tied into the suit computer that would
display target ID using several different senses Im just starting with IR.
The computer would have a data base of Life forms and vehicle&ecupiment
types. When it works right it should be able to say "Target acquired... ACME
MK1 MOD 1 battlesuit" or"Teran male" ect..
I was wondering if that would be the limit or would it say " that's Bob, and
Charlie, and one unidentified Venusan "

                                Thanks
