Why? Aphrodite was honoured my men as well. You could just make him
extremely handsome.

OIHID, I'd suggest.

Zeus: lustful, flight.
Hera: becomes vengeful
Vulcan: extra strength, very good technician, master
weaponsmith/armourer.
Chronos (Uranus): temporal powers - speed-reading, eidetic memory
Poseidon: swimming, waterbreathing, water control
Hades: Speak with Dead, becomes sombre, macabre

This might not be a great help but...

There was a discussion on this list a while back about various
Greek and Roman Gods and their individual preisthoods. Chracters based on
this theme would have certain "diferent" abilities. A wide selections of
gods were included, with their mentalities and possible abilities (power
sets).

You might want to check the HERO archives.

Could also be Adonis instead of Aphrodite; Captain Marvel himself had a
couple of mortals (Solomon, Achilles) in his pantheon.

Random thought that popped into my head the other afternoon.
You're relaxing somewhere - the beach, the mall, Main Street, study hall,
pick some place appropriate. Suddenly, three aliens with big heads and
pastel-colored skin appear to you and inform you that, as a reward for
living an examined life or some other pretext, your life is about to
change. And, coincidentally, these big-headed aliens happen to view the
world in Hero System terms.

The upshot? You - yes, you - have ten points to spend. On yourself. Any way
you like.
What would you buy?

wasn't there also a module about the Greek gods? or am i mis-remembering
something else... don't know how useful it would be, if you can find it, if
it exists.

5 money (i've been filthy poor, i'd like to see what filthy rich looks like)
5 immunity to stupidity (so that none of my stupid mistakes came back to
haunt me)

alternately, i'd just by clinging and stand on the ceiling (like that Lyonal
Richie video) :)

Cheapskate aliens. Last time this question came up on the list, we got 15
points. :)

Subject: Question of 10

I'd tell the aliens to wait until 5th edition, so I could get
immune to Aging and a stripped down form of Post Mortem Regeneration.
I'd then spend my days working up enough CP to buy the necessary
skills to make my life more comfortable. I would get enough cash to have
a nice home. Make sure I wasn't convicted of any crime (life imprisonment
would suck). I would still avoid death as dying as much as possible. It
would hurt... (unless I had leftover point for Armor, Only vs. STUN).
I would include a clause in my will that would prohibit my
cremation, burial, or reservation (via embalming) null and void, prefering
to be put to rest "naturally" in a comfortable above ground arrangement.
I would have people to ensure this happened.
I would stay away from any volcanoes, flash fires, and acid pools.
I would also not walk under heavy objects that could pin me for eternity.
Liquid Nitrogen, icy water, concrete shoes in the sea, helicopter blades,
wood chippers: same deal. I'd try to stay on the continent, as a plane
crash could mean my end.
I'd buy stock in HERO games, and I would make sure it was the #1
RPG in the year 2019. I might even join the company under an alternate
ID, possibly calling myself Robert or Steve.
I would stay out of the Linked debate-- for eternity.

...either that, or twenty more points of Comliness. Hopefully the
Aliens will not impose a NCM on me, and I will be The Most Handsome Man on
the Planet Earth (sans any other 10 point extra that came along). I'd get
bonuses to my PRE attack and a cushy modeling job.
I'd even do product endorsements for HERO.

(True HERO Geek question:) Active or Real? ;)

Well, you could mess with NASA and the physicists a /lot/ by getting
FTL...

Regeneration would be nice...then again, I'm not often in situations where
that's really going to be an issue.

Hmm. How about Duplication? I'm not sure how many points I would be in
HERO, but if I tacked on a few limitations, I'm sure I could afford a few
duplicates. (Extra Time, probably.) Makes housework easier, and I would
always have a lot more time to get things done...

And still have 10 points left. Given that you can't use FTL in an
atmosphere, and you personally are unlikely to ever be out of the
atmosphere, this is a Power you'd never be able to use, and thus shouldn't
cost you any points. ;)
